We the undersigned are concerned about the erosion of Miramar Beach and would like to see the County take steps to address the issue by considering the following:
The use of sediment and cobble from any emergency clearance of Montecito’s debris basins. We propose that sediment be placed at the west end of the beach at the bottom of the public access ramp, and
Include Miramar Beach in any long-term plans to permit the ongoing use of sediment cleared from local debris basins
Study feasibility and procedure for establishing ongoing re-sanding efforts, using sand dredged from offshore deposits
We understand that sediment placement is a noisy and disruptive process, but we believe the benefits of maintaining Miramar Beach for community use should outweigh those disadvantages.
